Listen to the Republican Radio: The Life of The Party Podcasts on your Windows PC
A Step-by-Step Guide
Have you clicked on the
icon at the Republican Radio website thinking you were going to hear the Republican Radio Podcast, only to get this strange error message on your computer screen?

Don't panic! There is nothing wrong with your computer; the problem is that Microsoft hasn't figured out how to handle podcasts yet. Until they do, here are step-by-step instructions on how you can listen to Republican Radio Podcasts on your Windows PC even if you don't have an iPod.
Step 1: Download the free iPodder software for Windows
This program is available from
http://easynews.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/ipodder/iPodder2.0.5.exe
Step 2: Open the iPodder program
The iPodder program appears as a yellow lemon-shaped icon in the lower right hand corner of most Windows PCs as shown:

Step 3: Subscribe to the Republican Radio Podcast in iPodder
To subscribe to Republican radio:
- Click on the Subscriptions tab of iPodder
- Click on the green "+" icon to Add new feed (as shown below)

- The URL box in the Add a Feed dialog will be empty (as shown below)
- Cut-and-paste the following text into the URL box:
http://www.republicanradio.com/Userfiles/Docs/podcast.xml
The end result should look like this:
"Republican Radio" will now appear as one of your Subscriptions in iPodder. The iPodder program will now update your Windows PC with the latest Republican Radio Podcast every Sunday after the show airs live on Saturday afternoons.
Step 4: Check for new Republican Radio Podcasts
The first time you subscribe to the Republican Radio Podcast, you can use iPodder to download the last podcast to make sure you didn't miss our last show. In the Subscriptions tab, click on the green arrows to Check for new podcasts (as shown below)

The iPodder program will automatically switch to the Downloads tab and begin downloading both hours of the Republican Radio Podcast (as shown below)

Step 5: Listen to the Republican Radio Podcast on your Windows PC
To listen to the Republican Radio Podcast on your Windows PC without an iPod, use your mouse to right-click on the title of the Republican Radio Podcast you want to hear and click Play episode in mediaplayer (as shown below)

Windows will automatically being playing the Republican Radio Podcast on your computer.
Republican Radio on the Go: How do I get the Republican Radio Podcast on my portable media device (iPod, MP3 player, etc.)?
At this time, the free iPodder software WILL NOT TRANSFER the Republican Radio Podcast to your portable media device. If you own an Apple iPod or similar MP3 playing portable media device from another manufacturer, it is recommended that you use the software provided with that device to transfer the Republican Radio Podcasts to your portable player.
However, when using iPodder to receive Republican Radio Podcasts, we recommend that you set up a Podcast-only folder on your computer using the following iPodder settings to make the transfer process in your media player's software easier:
Set up a Podcast folder on your PC
To set up a podcast folder on your PC:
o Open the iPodder program
o Click on File
o Choose Preferences (as shown below)

o In Preferences, type C:\Podcasts into the "Download podcasts into this folder" box (as shown below)

Now you can easily move the Republican Radio Podcasts from your computer's "Podcasts" folder directly into your iPod or other portable media device.
